Working in ministry places unique demands on your life in every way. Your life is very much a glass house, with every aspect and decision scrutinized (and the scrutiny is not always forgiving or understanding).
But your calling to help and serve others through ministry does not mean you have to sacrifice your sanity and wellbeing. Some of the deepest wounds in ministry are inflicted by those closest to us, and by reaching out for help, you are in a unique position to show it is permissible to ask for help. You can also empower other women and assist in reducing the negative stigma within faith communities associated with seeking help for anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.

My Approach to Counseling for Women in Ministry
The work we will do together is based on the principles of Reality Therapy and solution-focused counseling. Reality therapy is based on what you want most and creating a plan for achieving it, while solution-focused work allows me to trust you as the expert on what you want and need in order to feel renewed and energized in your work. Together, these approaches allow us to establish clear goals for your time in therapy and create solutions that are tailored to you and the nuances of your ministry and life.
We will focus on implementing healthy boundaries and prioritizing your own needs. My approach to therapy validates the struggle that comes with working in ministry: I know that your life is on display and that there are very unique challenges that come with that. We’ll work together to address those challenges one by one in order to help you feel fulfilled and empowered in your work.
